The bidding process at Eccasion
How the auction works
- In an open auction, the car is sold in €100 bidding increments. You set the maximum bid, but we may be able to buy the car for less, and that saving goes to you. In an open auction we can see the other bids right away, as well as the price the car sells for.
- In a blind auction, we can place only one bid. The leasing company then lets us know the result later that afternoon. We only hear whether or not we placed the highest bid, not what the highest bid was if it wasn't ours.
Additional costs
- Before the auction, we always give you an estimate of the repair costs according to Eccasion's standard, plus €200 for possible maintenance. We deliberately share this up front, so you can still take it into account in your bid.
- We only charge maintenance and repair costs on the final invoice if the work is actually needed (within 60 days of delivery or 5,000 km), so you only pay for what's necessary.
- By default, we carry out all repairs unless you explicitly tell us otherwise, so we can deliver a car in good condition.
Deposit
- The €1,000 deposit is deducted from the final invoice. You only make the final payment when you come to pick up the car.
- Didn't win? You can get your deposit back right away on request, or leave it with us for a future bid. You'll find more information in our terms and conditions.
- The deposit is part of your 14-day trial period (up to 500 km). Not satisfied and want to cancel the purchase? Then we'll refund the full amount, including the deposit.
